Policy Statement


The Partners recognise that by eliminating discrimination we can more effectively meet the objectives of our Practice in our dealings with people.

It is the policy of the Partners to comply with our statutory obligations under the Race Relations Act 1976 and its subsequent amendments.

It is the policy of the Partners to observe as far as practicable the Equality and Human Rights Commission Code of Practice for Employment.

The Partners will observe the following Regulations:

  • Race Relations Act 1976 (Amendment) Regulations 2003
  • Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003
  • Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003
  • Disability Discrimination Act (Amendment) Regulations 2003
  • Employment Equality (Sex Discrimination) Regulations 2005
  • Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006

Principles


  • All members of the Practice are equal in terms of colour, race, nationality and ethnic origin.
  • Recruitment, training and promotion shall be on the basis of academic and professional qualifications and experience and career.
  • The aim of this policy is to ensure that no job applicant or employee is discriminated against or receives less favourable treatment which cannot be justified on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation, parental status, disability, race, religion or belief, age, part-­time working, spent convictions, or when exercising any statutory right.
